An apple watch portable charger solves the one problem the watch never has at home: it needs its own magnetic puck, and the cable is easy to forget. The options split three ways in 2026. Keychain pucks with a small battery inside, larger power banks with a watch charger built in, and a plug-in charger with no battery that runs from whatever USB-C power you already carry.

Each type trades speed for convenience differently. A keychain puck is tiny but charges slowly, while Apple’s own fast charging needs its USB-C cable and a strong power source. The seven below cover all three types, with capacities and charge counts as each maker states them.

1. Anker MagGo Power Bank for Apple Watch: The One to Pack

Image: Anker

Anker’s MagGo is certified by Apple for Apple Watch, which is the reason it charges faster than the generic pucks here: Anker says it takes a Series 9 to 47% in 30 minutes through its 5W watch charger. The charger folds up from the body, and a built-in USB-C cable plus a USB-C port push up to 30W to a phone at the same time.

The 10,000mAh cell is good for about two charges of an iPhone 15 Pro, so for a weekend away it replaces the watch cable, the phone charger and a separate power bank. It refills in about 1.5 hours from a 30W adapter and is about the size of a computer mouse.

What it does well

  • Apple certified watch charger, Series 9 to 47% in 30 minutes per Anker
  • Built-in USB-C cable and port, up to 30W
  • Charges watch and phone together
  • Refills in 1.5 hours, 24-month warranty

What to know before buying

  • At 8.32 ounces it is a bag item, not a keychain
  • Watch charging is 5W, below Apple’s fastest cable
  • Overkill if you only need a watch top-up

2. JOYROOM 2000mAh: A Keychain Puck With a Real Display

Image: JOYROOM

JOYROOM’s puck clips to a key ring and carries a 2,000mAh battery, which it says is enough for three to four full charges of a standard Apple Watch or two of an Apple Watch Ultra. The magnetic surface self-aligns, so the watch charges as soon as it touches the pad.

The useful extra is a numeric battery display rather than a row of lights, so you know whether the puck itself needs charging before a trip. A 3.3 ft USB-C cable is in the box for refilling it.

What it does well

  • Three to four standard watch charges, two Ultra charges
  • Numeric battery percentage display
  • Leather loop and reinforced keychain
  • Weighs about 2.2 ounces

What to know before buying

  • Charges slowly compared with Apple’s fast charger
  • Watch only, no phone output
  • Puck sits loose in a pocket without the loop

3. iVALUX Keychain Charger: The Smallest Emergency Option

At 2.36 by 1.57 inches and 1.57 ounces, the iVALUX is the smallest charger here and the easiest to forget is on your keys. Its 1,000mAh battery is an emergency reserve rather than a weekend supply, and iVALUX puts a full watch charge at about 2.5 hours.

It covers every Apple Watch size from 38 to 49mm, including the newest Series and Ultra models, and has overcurrent, overvoltage and overheat protection. A USB-C cable and an 18-month warranty come with it.

What it does well

  • Tiny and light at 1.57 ounces
  • Fits all Apple Watch sizes and generations
  • Includes a USB-C cable and 18-month warranty

What to know before buying

  • About one watch charge from 1,000mAh
  • Around 2.5 hours for a full charge
  • Basic plastic build

4. Ekrist 10800mAh: Phone on One Side, Watch on the Other

Image: Ekrist

Ekrist puts a magnetic charger on both faces of this bank, one for a MagSafe iPhone and one for an Apple Watch, so the two charge stacked together on a bedside table. Built-in Lightning and USB-C cables plus spare USB-A and USB-C ports mean it can feed six devices at once.

The 10,800mAh battery and 25W wired output cover a full day of travel, and Ekrist says it takes an iPhone to 50% in 30 minutes by cable. An LED display shows the remaining charge. At 1.02 inches thick and 239 g it is the chunkiest pick here.

What it does well

  • Two magnetic faces for iPhone and Apple Watch
  • Built-in Lightning and USB-C cables, six outputs in total
  • 25W wired fast charging and an LED display
  • 10,800mAh for multi-day trips

What to know before buying

  • Thick at 1.02 inches
  • Charging six devices at once splits the power
  • Wireless phone charging is not Qi2 certified

5. iGENJUN 2500mAh: More Capacity on a Keychain

Image: iGENJUN

The iGENJUN puck holds 2,500mAh, the most of the keychain chargers here, which iGENJUN says is two full charges of an Apple Watch Ultra or four of a Series or SE model. It measures 3.6 by 1.9 inches and weighs 2.59 ounces.

Its short attached cable works three ways: as the keychain loop, as an input to refill the puck, and as an output to give a phone a little power in a pinch. Protection covers overcharging, overheating and short circuits.

What it does well

  • 2,500mAh, up to four Series watch charges
  • Attached cable doubles as keychain, input and output
  • Fits every Apple Watch size from 38 to 49mm

What to know before buying

  • Larger than the 1,000mAh pucks
  • Phone output is only an emergency trickle
  • Not compatible with other smartwatches

6. Scosche WatchIt: The Fast Option With No Battery

Image: Scosche

The WatchIt is deliberately not a power bank. It is a magnetic Apple Watch charger on a carabiner with a USB-C plug, so it runs from a wall adapter, a laptop, a car port, a power bank or an iPhone’s USB-C port. Scosche says Series 7 and newer watches reach 80% in about an hour on it.

Because there is no battery, it never needs charging itself and it is lighter than any puck. It also charges AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 in MagSafe cases, and Scosche backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.

What it does well

  • No battery to charge or wear out
  • Plugs into any USB-C source including an iPhone
  • Also charges AirPods with MagSafe cases
  • Limited lifetime warranty

What to know before buying

  • Useless without a USB-C power source
  • Series 1 to 6 charge at standard speed
  • Easy to lose on a busy keyring

7. Haloun 10000mAh: Watch Charger Plus a Kickstand

Image: Haloun

Haloun combines a magnetic iPhone bank with a fold-out Apple Watch charger and a kickstand, so a phone can stand on a tray table while the watch charges beside it. N52 magnets give what Haloun rates as 2.7 lb of hold.

The 10,000mAh cell covers up to two iPhone 17 charges or about 20 watch charges by Haloun’s figures, and two USB-C ports mean up to four devices at once. Wired output reaches 20W, and pass-through charging lets it refill overnight while it charges everything else.

What it does well

  • Fold-out watch charger and phone kickstand
  • Charges up to four devices at once
  • 20W USB-C and pass-through charging
  • N52 magnets rated at 2.7 lb of hold

What to know before buying

  • Heavier at 7.62 ounces
  • Not Qi2 certified for the phone side
  • Smaller brand with less history

Why Portable Apple Watch Chargers Are Slower Than Apple’s Cable

Apple Watch fast charging has strict requirements. Apple’s fast charge page states that it needs the Apple USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable and an 18W or higher USB-C adapter, and that chargers marked WPT do not fast charge. With that setup a Series 10 or later goes from 0 to 80% in about 30 minutes, and Series 7 to 9 in about 45.

Small battery pucks cannot match that. They run at a few watts and take one to two and a half hours for a full charge. That is fine overnight in a hotel, but if you need speed, a no-battery charger like the Scosche WatchIt plugged into a strong USB-C source, or the Apple-certified Anker bank, gets closer to Apple’s numbers. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 both support fast charging.

Flying With a Watch Charger or Power Bank

Keychain pucks hold 1,000 to 2,500mAh, far below any airline limit. Even the 10,000mAh banks work out to around 37 watt hours, and the FAA’s battery rules allow spare lithium-ion batteries up to 100 watt hours in carry-on bags without approval.

The rule that catches people is location, not size: spare batteries and power banks must travel in the cabin, not in checked luggage, with their terminals protected. A no-battery charger like the WatchIt is exempt from all of this because it contains no cell at all.

Which Apple Watch Portable Charger to Buy

The Anker MagGo Power Bank for Apple Watch is the best single item to pack: Apple certified, faster than the generic pucks, and able to charge a phone at the same time. If you want something on your keys instead, the JOYROOM 2000mAh gives several charges and a real battery display.

Pick the Scosche WatchIt if you already carry a power bank or a USB-C laptop and only need the watch puck itself, and the Ekrist or Haloun if one bank should charge an iPhone and a watch together. For a bigger general-purpose battery, see our best power banks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my iPhone charge my Apple Watch?

Yes, on iPhone 15 and later. The USB-C port can power small accessories, so a USB-C watch charger such as the Scosche WatchIt or Apple’s cable plugged into the phone will charge the watch, slowly.

How many times can a portable charger charge an Apple Watch?

It depends on the battery. Makers quote about one charge from a 1,000 to 1,200mAh puck, three to four from 2,000 to 2,500mAh, and around 20 from a 10,000mAh bank.

Do third-party Apple Watch chargers fast charge?

Most do not. Apple’s fast charging needs its USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable and an 18W or higher adapter. Apple-certified products like the Anker MagGo bank get closer, and battery pucks charge at a few watts.

Will a keychain charger fit an Apple Watch Ultra?

The pucks here list support for every size from 38 to 49mm, including the Ultra range, though the larger Ultra battery means fewer full charges per puck.
