The $129 and $149 AirPods 5 Need Different Cases
Apple’s two AirPods 5 cases look alike but are not. The $129 case charges only over USB-C. The $149 case has a Qi coil, sits on an Apple Watch charger, and carries a speaker that Find My can trigger. Every case here leaves room for wireless charging, but that only helps the $149 owner. If you have the $129 model, skip the MagSafe cases and put the money toward a lock or a leather finish instead.

Practically, that means any AirPods 4 case fits, and the AirPods 4 listings are worth searching when a colour is sold out under the new name.
