Rarest Fortnite Skins: 26 Exclusive and Long-Gone Outfits

The rarest Fortnite skins are outfits you can no longer buy at all, like the Season 2 Battle Pass knights and skins that came bundled with a Samsung phone or a console, plus a handful of Item Shop skins that have not been sold in years. This list covers 26 of them, with how each one was sold and the last time it was available.

Travis Scott is the famous case: the outfit spent six days in the Item Shop in April 2020 and has not been back since. Renegade Raider, once one of the hardest skins to find, returned through the OG Season Shop in December 2024, so it is now one of the easier OG skins to get.

Exclusive Fortnite Skins You Can No Longer Get

None of these 15 outfits has ever been sold in the Item Shop. Each came from the Season 2 Battle Pass, a subscription pack, or a phone or console bundle, and they are listed in the order they were released.

1. Black Knight

Black Knight was unlocked at Tier 70 of the Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass, which cost 950 V-Bucks and went live with the outfit on 14 December 2017. It is a Legendary outfit from the Fort Knights set, and it has never been sold any other way.

2. Sparkle Specialist

Sparkle Specialist sat at Tier 56 of the same pass. It had one other route: Epic gave it free to players who placed in the top 100 of its Boogie Down contest in Season 3.

3. Royale Knight

Royale Knight was the Tier 21 reward of the Season 2 Battle Pass. Like the rest of the Fort Knights set, it has not been offered outside that pass since December 2017.

4. Blue Squire

Blue Squire unlocked the moment you bought the Season 2 Battle Pass, so every Season 2 pass owner has it. What makes it rare is the pass, not the grind.

5. Havoc

Havoc is a Legendary outfit that came free with Twitch Prime Pack 1, a limited-time offer for Twitch Prime members. The outfit was released on 28 February 2018, early in Season 3.

6. Royale Bomber

Royale Bomber came with a PlayStation 4 bundle priced at $299.99, released on 1 May 2018. The bundle added 500 V-Bucks, and the outfit has never had a V-Bucks price.

7. Galaxy

Galaxy was released on 10 August 2018 for buyers of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4, devices that cost $649 to $1,249. It has a separate female counterpart, Galaxy Scout.

8. Eon

Eon was the bundle outfit for an Xbox One S priced at $249.99, released on 27 September 2018. The Eon Bundle also included 2,000 V-Bucks and Save the World.

9. Double Helix

Double Helix came with the $299.99 Nintendo Switch Fortnite bundle, released on 5 October 2018, along with 1,000 V-Bucks.

10. Honor Guard

Honor Guard came with the HONOR View20 phone, which sold for $650 when the outfit was released on 25 February 2019.

11. IKONIK

IKONIK came with the Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+, released on 8 March 2019. Those phones cost $749 to $1,599 depending on model and storage.

12. Dark Vertex

Dark Vertex came with the Dark Apex Bundle for the Xbox One S, a $249.99 console package released on 7 June 2019 that also included 2,000 V-Bucks.

13. Wonder

Wonder was handed out through eligible Honor 20 phones, starting on 21 June 2019.

14. Neo Versa

Neo Versa came as a code in PlayStation bundles from 20 July 2019: a PlayStation 4 Slim bundle at $299.99, a Gold Wireless headset bundle and a DualShock 4 controller bundle.

15. Glow

Glow was released on 27 September 2019, during Season X, for owners of eligible Samsung devices. The list was long, from the Galaxy Note10 and S10 down to older S7 phones, Galaxy Tab tablets and A-series models, but the outfit was never sold on its own.

Six more promotional outfits follow the same pattern and have never been sold in the Item Shop either:

Six promotional Fortnite skins: Blue Team Leader, Trailblazer, Blue Striker, Prodigy, Carbon Commando and Stealth Reflex — Image: Epic Games

Stealth Reflex has an odd history. Epic swapped it into the GeForce bundle after Reflex, the original bundle outfit, went on sale in the Item Shop, and gave it free to everyone who had already redeemed a bundle code. Players without the bundle could wear it only once, as a disguise during Week 3 of the Resistance Quests.

Item Shop Skins Missing the Longest

16. Rogue Agent

Rogue Agent started in a $4.99 Starter Pack, sold from 27 March to 11 June 2018. It then appeared in the Item Shop for 1,500 V-Bucks on one day only, 15 September 2018, making it the only Starter Pack outfit ever re-sold for V-Bucks. It has not been sold since.

17. Reflex

Reflex first came with the GeForce Fortnite Bundle 1 in November 2018, then went on sale in the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks on 3 and 4 March 2019. Those two days are its only Item Shop appearances.

18. World Warrior

World Warrior is an 800 V-Bucks outfit from the World Cup 2019 set, sold alongside a World Cup 2019 Wrap. It was in the Item Shop from 26 to 28 July 2019 and has not returned.

19. Shaman

Shaman is a 1,500 V-Bucks outfit from the Moonbone set, first sold on 31 March 2019. It made a handful of Item Shop appearances that year, the last on 2 December 2019.

20. End Zone and the NFL Outfits

The Fourth Down set holds eight NFL outfits: End Zone, Gridiron, Spike, Strong Guard, Blitz, Rush, Interceptor and Juke. They arrived on 10 November 2018 at 1,500 V-Bucks each, with styles for all 32 NFL teams, and were last sold on 3 February 2020.

21. Travis Scott

Travis Scott cost 1,500 V-Bucks, or 2,500 V-Bucks in the Astronomical Bundle with Astro Jack. It was sold from 22 to 27 April 2020, six days in total, and Epic has not announced a return.

22. Astro Jack

Astro Jack cost 2,000 V-Bucks on its own and was sold on the same six days as Travis Scott. Both outfits are Icon Series skins from the Travis Scott set.

23. Rue

Rue is a 1,200 V-Bucks outfit from the Lil’ Red set. It has only two Item Shop days to its name: 25 April and 27 May 2020.

24. Kratos

Kratos came from the God of War series and cost 1,500 V-Bucks, or 2,200 V-Bucks in the Kratos Bundle. It was first sold on 4 December 2020, appeared on 33 days, and was last sold on 19 March 2021.

25. Sofia

Sofia is a 1,500 V-Bucks outfit from the John Wick set, first sold on 28 June 2019. Its last Item Shop appearance was on 25 March 2021.

26. Mike Lowrey

Mike Lowrey uses the likeness of Will Smith, who played the character in the Bad Boys films. The 1,500 V-Bucks outfit was sold from 29 August to 29 September 2021, on roughly ten days, and has not returned.

OG Skins That Are Easier to Get Than Their Reputation

Several of the oldest outfits in the game are easier to get now than their age suggests. Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper were Season 1 Season Shop skins in 2017, and Epic brought both back in the OG Season Shop from 20 December 2024 to 30 January 2025. Each cost 1,200 V-Bucks, but you had to earn XP first to unlock the purchase, and Epic promised players who bought them in 2017 an exclusive new style.

The OG Season Shop returned for a second run from 20 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 with the same XP targets. This is where the classic “rare” OG skins stand now:

Renegade Raider: OG Season Shop, unlocked after earning 1,500,000 XP
Aerial Assault Trooper: OG Season Shop, unlocked after earning 1,000,000 XP
Skull Trooper: back in the Item Shop as recently as 24 July 2026
Ghoul Trooper: last sold on 30 July 2026
Recon Expert: back in the summer of 2026, and also sold inside locker bundles
Codename E.L.F.: its V-Bucks listing has not returned since January 2018, but the outfit is sold in the $22.99 Polar Legends Pack, which was on sale as recently as January 2026

Do Fortnite Battle Pass Skins Ever Come Back?

Only newer ones can. According to Epic’s support page on returning Pass items, items from Fortnite Passes starting with Chapter 5 Season 4 might be sold in the Item Shop 18 or more months after that Pass expires. Epic adds that there is no guarantee any given item will return.

Every Battle Pass skin on this list is from 2017, years before that cutoff, so Black Knight, Sparkle Specialist, Royale Knight and Blue Squire stay tied to the Season 2 pass. The OG Season Shop that brought back Renegade Raider was a separate XP-gated shop, not a Battle Pass return.

Licensed collabs make up most of the long-gone shop list: Travis Scott, Astro Jack, Kratos, Sofia, Mike Lowrey and the NFL set are six of the 11 entries. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the rarest skin in Fortnite?

Epic does not publish ownership numbers, so there is no official answer. The strongest candidates are skins that were never sold in the Item Shop, such as Black Knight from the Season 2 Battle Pass and hardware exclusives like Galaxy and IKONIK. Among Item Shop skins, Rogue Agent has been gone longest: its one V-Bucks listing was on 15 September 2018.

Will the Travis Scott skin come back to Fortnite?

Epic has not announced a return. The outfit was in the Item Shop from 22 to 27 April 2020 and has not been sold since.

Can you still get Black Knight in Fortnite?

No. It was a Tier 70 reward in the Season 2 Battle Pass, and Epic’s policy on returning Pass items only covers passes from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward.

Is Renegade Raider still rare?

Less than it used to be. It returned in the OG Season Shop in December 2024 and again in December 2025, for 1,200 V-Bucks after earning 1,500,000 XP.

Are Samsung and console bundle skins ever sold in the Item Shop?

None of the bundle outfits on this list, including Galaxy, IKONIK, Glow, Eon, Double Helix and Royale Bomber, has ever appeared in the Item Shop.
