Fortnite Crew: What You Get and What You Keep If You Cancel

What Fortnite Crew includes at $11.99 a month on 5 November 2026, what Epic changes on 5 December 2026, and exactly what stays yours if you cancel.

Fortnite Crew title card

Fortnite Crew is Epic’s monthly subscription, and it costs $11.99 USD a month. Today, 5 November 2026, it pays 800 V-Bucks a month and includes the Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass, OG Pass and Rocket Pass Premium, plus a Crew Pack outfit that arrives once a month.

On 4 November 2026 Epic announced a Crew overhaul that takes effect on 5 December 2026. The price does not move, but the V-Bucks, the Crew Pack and the OG Pass all do. This guide keeps the two dates apart, then covers what stays yours if you cancel, which is where most of the confusion sits.

The left column below describes Crew as it works right now and until 4 December 2026. The right column is what Epic has announced for 5 December 2026 onwards. Nothing in the right column is live yet.

Part of Crew Until 4 December 2026 From 5 December 2026
Price $11.99 USD a month $11.99 USD a month, unchanged
Monthly V-Bucks 800 1,000 to 1,600, set by how long you have subscribed
Fortnite Battle Pass Premium rewards included Premium rewards included
Music Pass Included Included
LEGO Pass Included Included
Rocket Pass Premium Included Included
OG Pass Included Ends on 5 December 2026
Crew Pack Outfit One a month December 2026 is the last one
Fortnite XP boost None +20% for you, +10% for party members without Crew

Prices outside the United States are set by region, so the dollar figure applies to US accounts. Epic’s subscription terms also let it change the fee with at least 30 days’ notice. The 4 November announcement leaves $11.99 exactly where it is.

The monthly grant has already been cut once. It was 1,000 V-Bucks, and it fell to 800 in 2026 after Epic’s March repricing of V-Bucks packs. The December ladder brings the floor back up to 1,000 and lets it climb from there.

Crew gives you access to claim the premium rewards on the Battle Pass, Music Pass and LEGO Pass while you stay subscribed; claimed rewards are yours to keep, but new premium levels lock once your paid period ends. That one rule explains most of the value and most of the complaints about the service.

  • Fortnite Battle Pass. Its standard price is 800 V-Bucks, which is the same as the $8.99 V-Bucks pack.
  • Music Pass. The Fortnite Festival pass, with Instruments, Jam Tracks and other Festival items. Its regular price is 1,200 V-Bucks.
  • LEGO Pass. Premium rewards for LEGO Fortnite, which Epic runs as two separate experiences, Odyssey and Brick Life. Its regular price is 1,200 V-Bucks.
  • Rocket Pass Premium. This is the Rocket League pass, not anything in Fortnite itself. It comes as a bonus for the current Rocket League season only.
  • OG Pass. Priced at 800 V-Bucks on its own, and included until Chapter 1: OG Season X ends on 5 December 2026.

Fortnite is in a short mini-season called Treasure Hunters, which began on 1 November 2026 and carries its own Battle Pass. Epic has said the normal Battle Pass returns on 5 December 2026, the same day the Chapter 7 end event runs. Epic lists the Battle Pass as included in Crew without singling out the mini-season version, so check the Included tag on the pass screen before you rely on it.

Epic has also published the pass lineup for the rest of 2026. A Music Mini-Pass arrives on 12 November 2026, then a LEGO Mini-Pass and the normal Fortnite Battle Pass both arrive on 5 December 2026. After those, Music and LEGO passes go back to their regular size and cadence.

If you already bought a pass with V-Bucks and then join Crew within 14 days, Epic hands the V-Bucks you paid back as a one-time grant, provided the pass is still active. The pass then becomes subscription-locked like every other Crew pass. Join later than 14 days and nothing is refunded, and the pass you bought stays yours for the season without a subscription.

What Epic Announced on 4 November 2026

Four changes arrive together on 5 December 2026. Each is dated here so none of them gets read as already live.

  • A V-Bucks ladder replaces the flat 800. The grant now depends on how many consecutive months you have subscribed.
  • A Fortnite XP boost arrives. You get +20% XP, and party members who do not have Crew get +10%. The boosts do not stack, so a party receives one 10% boost no matter how many members hold Crew.
  • Crew Pack Outfits end. The December 2026 pack is the last one.
  • The OG Pass ends. It finishes on 5 December 2026 with Chapter 1: OG Season X. Epic says The Next Era of Fortnite OG arrives in late 2027.

The OG Pass belongs to Fortnite OG, the retro mode. For the cosmetics that mode has already produced, see the guide to Fortnite OG skins.

The ladder works like this from 5 December 2026. Every tier costs the same $11.99.

Tier Consecutive months subscribed V-Bucks each month
Core 1 to 2 months 1,000
Bronze 3 to 5 months 1,200
Silver 6 to 11 months 1,400
Gold 12 months or more 1,600

The other three changes cost you nothing and the ladder is automatic, so existing subscribers do not need to do anything to be placed. What the ladder does reward is staying put, which matters a great deal for the next section.

How Epic Places Existing Subscribers and Returning Players

Epic places existing subscribers by counting consecutive months subscribed within the past 12 months. Someone who has paid without a break since early December 2025 lands in Gold on 5 December 2026. Someone who joined in August 2026 has about four months behind them and lands in Bronze. Months served before 5 December count, so joining now gives you a head start rather than waiting.

Lapsed subscribers get a grace window. If you resubscribe between 6 December 2026 and 23:59 ET on 31 December 2026, Epic counts your most recent continuous run inside the last 12 months. After 31 December 2026 earlier subscriptions stop counting, and you restart at Core.

That window is the one date worth putting in a calendar if you have already cancelled. A player who held Crew through most of 2026 and let it lapse in the autumn would otherwise drop from a high tier to Core.

What Happens to Crew Pack Items and Legacy Styles

A Crew Pack is a subscriber-only outfit plus at least one matching item, such as a Pickaxe or Back Bling. Since the October 2023 pack, each outfit has also carried five Crew Legacy Styles, earned by staying subscribed for one to five more months. Epic is ending the outfit packs, and the December 2026 pack is the final one.

Epic has promised something generous in return. Every remaining Legacy Style for Crew Pack Outfits, Pickaxes and Back Blings that you already own is granted in December, whether or not you are still subscribed when it lands. If you were slowly collecting those styles one month at a time, the wait is over.

Anything you do not already own stays out of reach. Crew Pack items were never sold to non-subscribers, and with no more outfit packs coming, there is no further route to the ones you missed.

What You Keep and What You Lose If You Cancel

Cancelling does not end Crew on the spot. You keep the benefits until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Epic’s terms say you keep the subscription content you received or earned during your time as a subscriber, and the table shows how that plays out in practice.

Item After you cancel
V-Bucks already in your account Kept. Epic does not take granted V-Bucks back
Crew Pack items you received Kept in your Locker
Legacy Styles you already earned Kept
Premium pass rewards you already claimed Kept
Rewards you reached but had not claimed Claimed for you when that pass ends, per Epic’s Crew FAQ
Benefits for the rest of the paid month Kept until the billing period runs out
Next month’s V-Bucks Stop
The next Crew Pack Stops
New premium levels on Crew-granted passes Lock once the paid period ends

The V-Bucks line matters most. Granted V-Bucks sit in your wallet like any other V-Bucks, and cancelling does not claw them back. The exception is a refunded console transaction, which can lead Epic to remove the Crew content attached to it.

Platform Lock, Billing and Refunds

Your subscription is tied to the platform where you bought it, which Epic calls your Primary Platform. It is not transferable between platforms. You can use the items on other platforms, but the monthly V-Bucks may not be redeemable on them, and you must log in to your Primary Platform each period to receive your content.

Billing and cancelling follow the same rule. If you subscribed through Epic on PC or mobile, you cancel with Epic. If you subscribed through Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch or the Apple App Store, you cancel in that platform’s own subscription settings, because Epic does not handle billing there. For an Epic purchase, the steps are:

  1. Open the Passes tab in the game and choose Manage Subscription.
  2. Select Cancellation Info.
  3. Select Cancel Subscription before your next billing date.

Epic’s terms say there is no prorated refund for any part of a subscription fee, subject to your statutory rights. Epic support has said a Crew subscription bought directly through Epic cannot be refunded, and platforms such as Apple, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo apply their own refund processes. For the V-Bucks side of the story, see the guide to refunding items in Fortnite.

Getting Fortnite Crew Through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has included Fortnite Crew at no extra cost since 18 November 2025. You sign in to Fortnite on an eligible Xbox platform at least once a month to keep it, and the benefit ends when Ultimate ends or the Xbox and Epic accounts are unlinked.

Epic’s 4 November announcement does not mention Game Pass at all. Whether the V-Bucks ladder and the XP boost apply to Ultimate members on 5 December 2026 has not been spelled out, so treat that as unconfirmed until Epic says so.

Who Gets the Most Out of Crew at $11.99

Crew pays off for a player who would buy at least two of the passes anyway and spends V-Bucks every month. Today the 800 V-Bucks alone match the $8.99 pack, so about $3 of the fee is left to cover the passes and the Crew Pack. From 5 December 2026 the Core grant of 1,000 V-Bucks is already worth more than the flat 800 it replaces.

Crew is a poor fit for someone who plays one season and wants one pass. A Battle Pass bought with V-Bucks stays claimable all season with no subscription, while a Crew-granted pass stops giving new premium levels the day your paid period ends. If a teenager holds the subscription, the spending limits in Fortnite parental controls keep the bill predictable.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is Fortnite Crew?

It is $11.99 USD a month in the United States, billed monthly and renewing automatically. Epic confirmed on 4 November 2026 that the price is not changing with the December overhaul. Other regions pay a locally set price.

Does Fortnite Crew get more V-Bucks in December?

Yes. The flat 800 V-Bucks a month becomes 1,000 for Core, 1,200 for Bronze, 1,400 for Silver and 1,600 for Gold from 5 December 2026. Your tier depends on consecutive months subscribed in the past 12.

Do you keep your V-Bucks if you cancel Fortnite Crew?

Yes. V-Bucks already granted stay in your account, and so do the Crew Pack items you received. What stops is the next monthly grant and the ability to claim new premium levels on Crew-granted passes.

Can I move Fortnite Crew from one platform to another?

No. The subscription is tied to the platform where you bought it and cannot be transferred. To use Crew on a different platform you would need to start a new subscription there.
