Roblox song IDs are the numbers you paste into a boombox, a radio or a Sound object to play a track inside a game. The 36 below were each opened in the Roblox Creator Store on October 8, 2026, and every one of them was live, free and public at that moment.
That check matters more than the length of the list. Audio on Roblox is private by default, and the uploader decides who may use it, so most of the lists circulating are a mix of numbers that still work and numbers that stopped working years ago. These are grouped into six moods, and each one carries the track name, the uploader and the length so you can tell before you paste.
How a song ID is allowed to play

Every piece of audio uploaded to Roblox is an asset with a number, and the platform decides who may use that number. Roblox states that the asset privacy system means the IDs of imported audio cannot be accessed by users without permission, and that the uploader grants access to specific friends or experiences. The practical result is that an ID someone uploaded for their own game is useless to you, even though the number is real. Roblox sets out the rules in its audio asset documentation.
Tracks published in the Creator Store are the exception, and that is where every ID in this list comes from. They are distributed for anyone to use, they are free, and they carry a visible rating and length on their own asset page. Roblox also caps uploads at 7 minutes and 20 MB, which is why you will not find a full album in any of these groups. The wider rules for reusing assets are in the asset documentation on the same site.

Meme tracks and Roblox classics

This is the group people mean when they ask for Roblox song IDs. Raining Tacos has been on the platform since January 2014 and still holds a 99% rating across more than 600 votes, which makes it the longest running joke on the site. The rest of the group covers the tracks that arrive through short-form video and stay for a season.

Phonk, funk and drift

Phonk and Brazilian funk run the car and racing servers, and they run most of the clip edits made inside them. These six are all between 62 and 153 seconds, which is roughly one race, so the track resets about as often as the round does.

Lofi, chill and study

Long, quiet and loopable, which is what a build server or a roleplay house needs. Nothing here is under two minutes, so the boombox does not restart every lap of the map.

Horror, spooky and ambience

These are the drones, music boxes and room tones that the Roblox horror games are built on. They work better at a low volume behind a game than they do as a boombox track, and several of them are long enough to cover a whole round.

Orchestral, epic and boss fights

Cinematic cues for a fight, a reveal or a tavern scene. The APM Music catalogue sits in this group, which is a production library Roblox has carried for years, so these are the safest picks for a game you intend to publish.

Upbeat pop and party

Bright and fast, for parties, cafes and anything with a dance floor. These are the ones that survive on a phone speaker, which matters when most of the server is on mobile.

How to play one inside a game
The box that takes the ID is different in every game, but the number is always the same number.
- Find a game that has a boombox, a radio or a music player. Brookhaven RP, Da Hood and most tycoon games sell one for Robux, and plenty of roleplay games hand you one at spawn.
- Open the boombox and look for the box that asks for an ID or a code.
- Paste the number only. Not the full link, not the word rbxassetid, just the digits.
- Press play or enter. If the track is public and the game has not blocked it, it starts within a second or two.
- If nothing happens, try a second ID from the same group before assuming the boombox is broken.
Boomboxes are most common in roleplay and hangout games. Brookhaven RP and the other town games in our list of the most popular Roblox games all have one, and the same ID works in each of them. The co-op titles in our guide to the best Roblox games to play with friends are the other place a shared track actually gets heard.
How to add one in Roblox Studio
If you are building rather than playing, the ID goes into a property instead of a text box.
- Open your place in Roblox Studio and insert a Sound object, usually into a part or into SoundService.
- Select the Sound and find the SoundId property in the Properties panel.
- Type rbxassetid:// followed by the number, for example rbxassetid://142376088.
- Press the play triangle next to the property to hear it inside Studio.
- Set Looped to true for background music, and lower the Volume, which starts at 0.5 and is usually too loud for ambience.
One warning worth taking seriously: an ID that plays in Studio for you is not proof that it will play for everyone. Test the published game in a second account before you rely on a track, especially if you found the number anywhere other than the Creator Store.
Why a song ID stops working
A dead ID almost always has one of five causes, and only the last one is your fault.
- The uploader made it private again. Audio access is controlled by the uploader, so an ID that worked last year can be pulled back at any time.
- It was moderated. Uploads are reviewed, and anything that fails review stops playing everywhere at once.
- The game blocked it. Individual experiences can filter audio, and a boombox in one game may refuse a track another game plays happily.
- The ID was never public. Most lists copy numbers from each other without checking, and an ID that belongs to a private upload has never worked for anyone except its owner.
- You pasted the wrong number. A link to an asset page and the ID itself are different things, and only the digits go in the box.
Roblox has run the audio privacy system since 2022, after a copyright dispute changed how music is handled on the platform. Any list written before that date is close to useless, which is the single best filter to apply when you find one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Roblox song IDs still work?
Yes, as long as the audio behind the number is public. Every ID in this list was opened and checked on October 8, 2026. What stopped working in 2022 was the ability to use any audio on the platform by number alone, which is why so many older lists fail.
What is the ID for Raining Tacos?
The original Parry Gripp upload is 142376088. It has been on Roblox since January 17, 2014, runs for 1 minute 35 seconds and holds a 99% rating from more than 600 votes.
Can I upload my own song and use the ID?
You can upload audio under 7 minutes, but it stays private to you until you grant access. Verified accounts get 2,000 free audio uploads per 30 days and unverified accounts get 100. Uploading music you do not own will fail moderation.
Why does a code work in one game but not another?
Games can filter audio themselves. A boombox in one experience may refuse a track that plays in another, usually because the developer restricted what the boombox accepts. Nothing about the ID changes between the two.
