Roblox horror games are the one genre on the platform that does not need a big budget to work. A dark corridor, one sound and a player who cannot see behind them is the whole recipe, and the ten below were the ten most played horror experiences on Roblox on October 8, 2026, at 07:09 UTC, holding 185,184 players between them.

Each entry has the number of players in it at that moment, how many share a server, the like ratio and the maturity rating Roblox itself assigns, which is the single most useful number if you are checking one of these for somebody else. Every game name links straight to its page.

The 10 best Roblox horror games right now

9 Story and chase 5485 45 97.5% Moderate
10 Flee the Facility Hide and escape 4818 5 92.1% Mild

Horror is a small share of a very large platform. Roblox averaged 123 million daily active users in the three months to June 30, 2026 according to its quarterly report for that period, and the top 50 games take about half of all hours played on the platform. Nothing in this genre reaches that top tier, which is why a horror game with 20,000 players is a genuine hit.

1. 🎃 Dandy’s World (Mascot horror, co-op): 67623 playing

Players right now: 67623 · Lifetime visits: 7.57 billion · Likes: 87.4% · Players per server: 35 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2024-01-26 · Creator: BlushCrunch Studio

Dandy’s World is the biggest horror game on Roblox and the least obviously frightening to look at. You play a Toon in Gardenview Center, a group of you repair machines to open the way down, and something else walks the floor while you do it. The art is bright and round, which is exactly the trick: the game is built on the gap between how it looks and what happens in it.

Servers take 35 players, the largest in this ten, and the run falls apart the moment people stop sharing information. Roblox rates it Maturity: Mild. With 7.57 billion visits since January 2024 it is also the fastest growing horror game the platform has had.

2. Forsaken (One killer against eight): 28388 playing

Players right now: 28388 · Lifetime visits: 5.79 billion · Likes: 84.4% · Players per server: 9 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2024-07-28 · Creator: Forsaken Dev Team

Forsaken is the asymmetric one: eight survivors complete objectives against a timer while one player hunts them, and the killer roster is drawn from characters across Roblox history. A round is short, loud and decided by whether the survivors can hold a generator long enough.

The description opens with an epilepsy warning for flashing lights and loud audio, which is worth reading before you hand it to a younger player even at Maturity: Mild. Nine players per server means there is no hiding in a crowd.

3. Evade (Nextbot chase parkour): 27143 playing

Players right now: 27143 · Lifetime visits: 9.27 billion · Likes: 93.9% · Players per server: 15 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2022-06-10 · Creator: Hexagon Development Community

Evade is a horror game only in its subject matter. You are chased across a map by nextbots, which are flat images that slide at you at speed, and survival is a question of movement: slides, bunny hops and reading a corner before you turn it. It holds the highest like ratio in this ten at 93.9%.

The developers rewrote the codebase for stability and run an unappealable ban on exploits, which tells you how competitive the movement has become. Fifteen players share a map, and reviving a downed teammate is the only thing stopping a wipe.

4. DOORS 🚨 (Corridor escape): 22345 playing

Players right now: 22345 · Lifetime visits: 7.84 billion · Likes: 93.0% · Players per server: 50 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2021-03-14 · Creator: LSPLASH

DOORS is the game most people name first. You move down the corridors of a hotel opening numbered doors, learning what each entity does by dying to it, and the game openly recommends going in without a guide. Headphones are not a flourish here, because several entities are identified by sound before they are visible.

LSPLASH has kept it updated since March 2021 and the Stairwell content is current. Fifty players can share a server, though the run itself is usually a small group. It carries 7.84 billion visits and a 93.0% like ratio.

5. 3008 (Open-world survival): 9622 playing

Players right now: 9622 · Lifetime visits: 3.32 billion · Likes: 91.7% · Players per server: 16 · Maturity: Minimal · Released: 2019-01-20 · Creator: uglyburger0

3008 is set in an unusually large furniture store that never closes, and the horror is structural rather than scripted: the lights go out at closing time, the employees turn hostile, and you have to have built somewhere to be before that happens. Players barricade showrooms, hoard lamps and defend them.

It is the only entry here rated Maturity: Minimal, and the one most likely to turn into a building game rather than a scare. Sixteen players per server, 3.32 billion visits and seven years of updates behind it.

6. Survive Deep in the Woods (Base defence against a beast): 7168 playing

Players right now: 7168 · Lifetime visits: 21.4 million · Likes: 84.6% · Players per server: 60 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2026-08-13 · Creator: Simple and Fiya Games

Two months old and already holding more than 7,000 players. Farmers chop trees, build a base and defend it until morning while one player hunts them as the Beast, and the cage the Beast starts in is the first thing you learn to listen for.

Sixty players per server is the biggest capacity in this list, which turns the night into a crowd problem as much as a horror one. If the camp half of that appeals more than the hunting half, our survival pick in the most popular Roblox games is the gentler version of the same night.

7. Lethal Ape (Caves) (Lab escape, co-op): 6441 playing

Players right now: 6441 · Lifetime visits: 369.4 million · Likes: 87.9% · Players per server: 20 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2023-11-10 · Creator: gub_dev

Lethal Ape puts you in a laboratory as an ape, with monsters loose between you and the exit. It reads like a joke and plays like a co-op escape game, which is why it has held a steady few thousand players since late 2023 without ever trending.

Twenty players per server and a 87.9% like ratio. It is the entry on this list most likely to make a group laugh rather than panic, which makes it a reasonable first horror game for someone who does not want DOORS yet.

8. Piggy (Puzzle escape, one hunter): 6151 playing

Players right now: 6151 · Lifetime visits: 14.40 billion · Likes: 90.3% · Players per server: 6 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2020-01-23 · Creator: Piggy Dev Team

Piggy is the one that started the current era of Roblox horror. You search a map for items to open the exit while one player, as Piggy, hunts the rest with a bat. It launched in January 2020, is on its ninth season, and has taken 14.4 billion visits, more than any other game here.

Six players per server keeps it tight and personal. The puzzle layer is the part that lasts: each chapter map hides its items differently, and knowing a map is most of the advantage.

9. (Story and chase): 5485 playing

Players right now: 5485 · Lifetime visits: 14.9 million · Likes: 97.5% · Players per server: 45 · Maturity: Moderate · Released: 2026-08-09 · Creator: Reskioat

THRESHOLD is the newest entry and the highest rated, at 97.5% likes two months after launch. It runs a story mode and a chase mode, and the chase mode listens: saying the wrong thing out loud is a way to die, which is a mechanic almost nothing else on Roblox uses.

It is in beta and says so, and it is the only game in this ten rated Maturity: Moderate, so it is the one to check yourself before passing it to a younger player. Forty five players per server.

Players right now: 4818 · Lifetime visits: 6.06 billion · Likes: 92.1% · Players per server: 5 · Maturity: Mild · Released: 2017-07-01 · Creator: A.W. Apps

Flee the Facility has been running since July 2017 and still fills every server it opens. One player is the Beast with a hammer, four hack computers to open the exits, and a hit puts you in a freezer that a teammate has to break you out of.

Five players per server, the smallest here, and a 92.1% like ratio across nine years. It also runs properly on phones, tablets, Xbox and PlayStation, which is rarer in this genre than it sounds.

Five more worth opening

These sit below the top ten on live players and above almost everything else on reputation. Two of them are the reason several games in the list above exist.

  • The Mimic, by CTStudio. Four chapters built from Japanese folklore, and the game that proved a Roblox horror story could run long.
  • Pressure, by Urbanshade: Hadal Division. A deep sea facility where you are expendable, and the closest thing the platform has to a prestige horror game.
  • Apeirophobia, by Polaroid Studios. Endless rooms, documentation and entities, the best known of the Backrooms games.
  • Survive the Killer, by Slyce Entertainment. A straight chase game from 2020 with a trading economy bolted on, still running every day.
  • Insane Elevator, by Digital Destruction. An elevator that opens on a new way to die at every floor. The description warns you.

Which one to open first

Horror is the genre where picking wrong wastes the whole evening, so pick by group first.

  • You have never played a horror game before. Lethal Ape or 3008. Both are survival first and scare second, and neither relies on a jumpscare to make its point.
  • You want the one everybody talks about. DOORS, then Piggy. Between them they define what Roblox horror sounds like.
  • You have a group of five or more. Forsaken or Flee the Facility. Both need a full lobby to work, and both fall flat with three people.
  • You want skill rather than fear. Evade. The nextbots are the pressure, but the game is really about movement.
  • You want something new. THRESHOLD or Survive Deep in the Woods, both launched in August 2026 and both still changing week to week.

If the group would rather cooperate than be hunted, the survival entries in our guide to the best Roblox games to play with friends cover the same evening without a killer in it.

What to check before a younger player starts

None of these games is rated above Moderate, but the genre earns a few minutes of checking.

  • Roblox labels every experience with a maturity rating. Nine of these ten are Minimal or Mild, and only THRESHOLD is Moderate, which is the label to look for before a younger player opens something.
  • Several of these games warn about flashing lights and loud audio in their own description. Forsaken and DOORS both do. Read the description before the first session rather than after it.
  • Voice and text chat are where most of the problem is, not the game. Chat settings are set on the Roblox account, not inside the experience.
  • Headphones make every one of these games significantly more frightening. That is usually the single setting to change for a nervous player.

Roblox publishes its own safety and policy updates in its newsroom, and the maturity label on each experience page is the fastest check available. The genre itself has a long history outside Roblox, and the games here borrow most of their structure from survival horror conventions that predate the platform by decades.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the scariest Roblox horror game?

DOORS is the usual answer and the fairest one, because it hides entities behind sound rather than sight. THRESHOLD is the stronger pick for someone who has already finished DOORS, and it is the only game in this ten that Roblox rates Moderate.

What is the most played Roblox horror game?

Dandy’s World, with 67,623 players in it when this list was checked. Piggy holds the record for lifetime visits in the genre at 14.4 billion.

Are Roblox horror games free?

All ten are free to open. They sell cosmetics, revives and private servers for Robux, and in Piggy and Forsaken the paid items are mostly skins rather than advantages.

Which Roblox horror games work with two players?

3008, Lethal Ape and DOORS all work with two. Forsaken needs nine for a full round and Flee the Facility needs five, so both are poor choices for a pair.
