The iPhone Duo goes on sale on 23 October, and the iPhone Duo screen protector shelf filled up before it: Spigen, ESR, ZAGG, amFilm and a string of smaller brands already sell glass for it on Amazon. Every serious option covers the same thing, the 5.4-inch outer display, which Apple protects with Ceramic Shield 2. The 7.6-inch folding screen inside uses a different surface entirely, and it is better left alone.
We picked seven that cover the choices buyers actually make: the easiest install, the strongest warranty, glass with its own anti-reflective coating to stand in for the one listed in Apple’s technical specifications, and a privacy filter for reading on public transport. Strength and clarity figures are the manufacturers’ claims; we have not tested them.

1. Spigen GlasTR EZ Fit Pro: The Best iPhone Duo Screen Protector Overall
Spigen’s tray is the reason this sits first. Each of the two protectors comes pre-loaded in its own EZ Fit Pro tray, which drops over the closed phone and lines the glass up with the outer screen, with a dust-removal step built into the sequence. On a foldable, where the cover screen is narrow and the frame is unfamiliar, taking alignment out of your hands matters more than on a regular iPhone.
The glass is what Spigen calls AluminaCore: high-purity alumina-silicate, strengthened by ion exchange. Spigen says the edges are cut to fit inside its own iPhone Duo cases, except the Air Skin Aramid MagFit, and inside most third-party cases.

Apple lists an anti-reflective coating on the Duo’s displays, and any protector puts a new surface on top of it. ESR’s Armorite Pro replaces like with like: the glass carries its own anti-reflective coating, which ESR says lets more light through so the screen stays readable in direct sun.
It is also the only pick here made with Accessory Glass by Corning. ESR claims it is 10 times stronger than generic protectors and, citing Corning lab data, has twice the scratch resistance with up to 25 percent less visible scratching. A two-step tray and a dust-removal strip handle installation, and ESR adds a 12-month protection plan.

ZAGG makes the biggest strength claim in this group: its Nanocore process, which it says removes microscopic flaws in the glass, makes the XTR6 up to 22 times stronger than basic glass protection. It layers an anti-reflective coating and an Eyesafe CPF70 blue light filter on top, which ZAGG says blocks blue light without tinting the screen yellow.
The real value is the warranty. ZAGG promises free lifetime replacements for the life of your device, so a protector that cracks later is replaced rather than rebought. The box holds one protector and ZAGG’s two-step PerfectFit installer.

amFilm bundles two screen protectors with four camera lens protectors, the only kit here that covers the rear cameras as well as the cover screen. Its OneTouch frame is an automatic alignment kit that amFilm says gets the glass on in about 30 seconds.
The glass is standard 9H tempered glass with a hydrophobic, oil-repellent top layer, cut specifically for the 5.4-inch Duo screen with openings for the camera, speaker and sensors. Nothing about it is exotic, which is the point: it is a complete set of glass for the phone in one box.

5. JETech Anti-Reflective 2-Pack: Anti-Glare Glass That Leaves Room for a Case
JETech’s flat glass is another way to avoid swapping Apple’s anti-reflective coating for plain gloss. JETech uses a magnetron-sputtered optical coating to cut reflections and an electroplated anti-fingerprint layer on top.
Installation is a three-step locator: align it, pull the tab, then roll the glass down while the air releases. JETech leaves border space around the edge so the glass sits inside most cases. That is the difference from its separate 3D curved version, which wraps the screen edges and, by JETech’s own note, may not fit cases with a built-in front frame.

A privacy filter makes the screen visible only to the person straight in front of it, which suits a cover screen you check on trains and in lifts without unfolding the phone. Ailun’s three-pack does that on the outer display only; it states plainly that it fits the 5.4-inch external screen when folded and not the inner main screen.
The trade-off is brightness. Ailun warns that the filter darkens the image, so you may need to turn the display up, which costs battery. The kit includes one installation frame, plus a dust absorber and a set of wet and dry wipes for each of the three protectors.

7. elago Tempered Glass+: A Simple Clear Two-Pack
elago keeps it basic. The Tempered Glass+ is clear tempered glass sized for the Duo’s outer display area, with an installation guide that sits on the closed phone to hold the glass in position while you lower it.
elago lists the glass at 77.8 by 113.3 by 0.6 mm and 2 g, so it adds almost nothing to a phone that already weighs 254 g. The pack includes a cleaning kit, and elago rates the glass as anti-fingerprint and shatter-proof.

The 7.6-Inch Inner Screen Should Stay Bare
The folding display’s top surface is not glass. Apple builds it from 10 ultrathin layers, with high-strength glass above and below the panel, a titanium plate at the bottom, and custom adhesives that let the layers slide past each other like the pages of a book when it bends. The surface your finger touches is a nano-textured cover layer made from a custom polymer that Apple says is up to 40 percent stiffer than other materials used in the industry, finished with a scratch-resistant coating.
That nano-texture is doing a job. Apple says it reduces glare and reflections and creates a matte surface that minimises how visible the crease is. A film stuck over it replaces Apple’s finish with the film’s own surface, and it would also sit over the FaceTime camera Apple hides beneath the inner display. Flexible inner-screen films do exist on Amazon, sold as TPU or hydrogel and sometimes bundled with outer-screen glass, but a film on a folding screen also has to bend at the crease every time you open the phone, and the crease is where its adhesive is under the most strain.

9H, 10H and 22x: Reading Screen Protector Strength Claims
Almost every box in this list says 9H. That grade comes from the pencil hardness test, where pencil leads of rising hardness are drawn across a surface until one leaves a mark, so 9H means a very hard lead did not scratch the glass. It does not mean the glass resists sand, which is mostly quartz and sits at 7 on the Mohs scale, above ordinary tempered glass.
That is why protectors still pick up scratches in a pocket, and why spares in the box are useful. Spigen rates its glass 10H+, and the multiplier claims on other boxes are also each maker’s own measure:
- ZAGG says XTR6 is up to 22 times stronger than basic glass protection.
- ESR says Armorite Pro is 10 times stronger than generic screen protectors.
- Each brand picks its own baseline, so the numbers cannot be compared with each other.
What you can compare is the material. Spigen names alumina-silicate glass strengthened by ion exchange, ESR names Corning as the maker of its glass, and the other packs list tempered glass without naming a type.
Touch ID, the Dynamic Island and Fitting a Case
The Duo unlocks with a fingerprint sensor built into the side button, so no protector can get in the way of unlocking. What a protector does have to clear is the Dynamic Island, which Apple puts on both displays, and the outer screen’s front camera. All seven picks are cut around them.
The bigger compatibility question is the case. A few points to check before you buy both:
- Spigen says its glass fits inside its iPhone Duo cases except the Air Skin Aramid MagFit.
- Curved full-coverage glass, like JETech’s 3D version, can collide with cases that wrap a lip over the front edge.
- Flat glass with a border, like the JETech 2-pack in this list, is the safer pairing with a framed case.
Nothing carries over from a regular iPhone either. The Duo’s cover screen is 5.4 inches against 6.9 inches on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, so glass and cases from our iPhone 18 Pro Max case picks will not fit the foldable.
Which iPhone Duo Screen Protector to Buy
Buy the Spigen GlasTR EZ Fit Pro if you want the install to go right the first time. The tray matters on an unfamiliar phone, and you get a spare. If glare bothers you more than installation, the ESR Armorite Pro is the better buy, since its anti-reflective coating stands in for the one Apple put on the bare screen.
The ZAGG XTR6 makes sense if you want to buy once and claim replacements for as long as you own the phone. The amFilm kit adds camera lens protection, the JETech pack pairs anti-glare glass with a case-friendly cut, the Ailun hides the cover screen from people beside you, and the elago is plain clear glass with a spare.

Does the iPhone Duo need a screen protector?
It is optional. Apple covers the outer display with Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple’s announcement says has three times better scratch resistance than the previous generation. The outer screen is the one exposed whenever the phone is closed, so a protector there is cheap insurance: a scratched protector is replaced in minutes, the display is not.
Can you put a screen protector on the iPhone Duo inner screen?
Films for it are sold, but we would not use one. The inner screen’s nano-textured polymer cover layer is designed to cut glare and hide the crease, and a film covers that finish and has to flex at the fold every time you open the phone.
Will an iPhone 18 Pro screen protector fit the iPhone Duo?
No. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display and the Duo’s outer screen is 5.4 inches, with a different shape and cutouts. Buy glass listed specifically for the iPhone Duo.
Does a screen protector affect Touch ID on the iPhone Duo?
No. The Duo’s Touch ID sensor is in the side button, not under the display, so glass on either screen has no effect on unlocking.
