Fortnite Sprites List: Abilities, Variants and Where to Find Them

This is the full Fortnite Sprites list for Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, with what each Sprite’s ability does and when it arrived. Sprites are companions you carry on your back, each with one passive power, and Override brought in a new generation of them on 20 August.

Epic has added Sprites in every update since, along with variants, a Mastery track and a way to spend Sprite Dust on your loot.

All Fortnite Sprites and Their Abilities

The Birthday Sprite goes live on Saturday 26 September. Three Sprites on the list were designed by players through Epic’s Design A Sprite contest: X-Ray by Avila215, Onigiri by Enorull, and Pond by Pine and Kiri. Epic picked five winners in total, so two more community Sprites are still to come this season.

Where to Find Sprites in Fortnite

Every Sprite has to be found in a match and then extracted before it joins your collection. These are the routes that work:

• Cheat Codes in matches. Look for arrow sequences on walls and inside POIs, then enter the inputs to free a Sprite. The code’s colour matters: blue and purple codes can drop any rarity, purple ones favour variants, and orange Legendary codes always give a variant.
• Lobby Hacks. Some Fortnite admin panel codes give a Cheat Master or Gold Sprite straight away.
• Eliminations. Bounty Hunter variants started dropping from eliminated opponents on 24 September.
• Gizmos. The Cheat Code Locator shows the nearest code, and the Extraction Accelerator starts a nearby Extraction Site instantly.

Extract a Sprite you already own and its Sprite XP goes to your existing copy. Max it out, extract it again, and it is mastered. Epic also improves your odds of a new variant the longer you go without one.

What Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker and Bounty Hunter Variants Do

A variant keeps the Sprite’s own ability and adds one of these bonuses:

• Gold: extra XP from eliminations. Gold variants are hacked in during Power Hours.
• Cheat Master: Cheat Code inputs always count as correct. Mastering Crown unlocks its Cheat Master version, and some Lobby Hacks give them free.
• Loot Hacker: better odds that your Loot Hack items spawn from Chests.
• Bounty Hunter: found by eliminating opponents and levelled only by eliminations.

Spending Sprite Dust: Summons, Loot Hacks and Mastery

Sprite Dust pays for summoning rarer Sprites and variants into a match, and a mastered Sprite costs half as much to resummon. The rest goes on Loot Hacks, which let you pick bonus items that can drop from your Chests.

Loot Hacks rotate during the season. Dust in one set can be reset at any time but does not move to the next set, and since v42.10 hacked weapons are capped at Rare to Legendary rather than Epic to Mythic.

Mastery pays out on its own track. Extract 30 Sprites for the Pixel Sprite Trainer Back Bling, keep going for the Pixel Polli Outfit, and Epic says a more pixelated Style follows later for mastering 70 Sprites.

Fortnite Cheat Codes: Entering Arrow Inputs

In-match Cheat Codes are where most Sprites come from. Spot the code on a wall or inside a POI, interact with it, and press the arrows it shows in the same order. Get it right and the Sprite is freed next to you, ready to extract.

A few things make the process smoother:

• Epic reworked some sequences in September so they are easier to input.
• Codes that only worked from one exact angle were fixed in the same update, so move around a code that ignores you.
• Purple and orange codes are worth a detour, because they carry better variant odds than blue ones.
• You can now see in a match whether you already own a Sprite, which saves chasing duplicates when you need a new one.

Sprite Gizmos and What Each One Does

Gizmos are one-use items that speed up collecting. They come from Lobby Hacks and Mastery rewards:

• Cheat Code Locator: points to the closest Cheat Code.
• Extraction Accelerator: quietly opens a nearby Extraction Site and brings in the Extraction Crate straight away.
• Llama Supply Drop: drops a boosted llama Supply Drop at your position.
• Spicy Taco: heals and gives a speed and stamina boost, or a Taco Time party if your squad eats together.

Save Extraction Accelerators for late in a match, when walking to an Extraction Site is the riskiest part of keeping a Sprite. Epic also shortened the button hold needed to summon a Sprite, so bringing one into a fight is quicker than it was last season.

Sprite Events Each Week

Epic posts a weekly roadmap on its social channels every Sunday. Three events repeat:

• Mastery Mondays, returning since 7 September, for levelling your collection.
• New Sprite Day on Thursdays, when new Sprites or variants land.
• Power Hours on Saturdays, 2 to 4 PM ET and 9 to 11 PM ET, with boosted Sprite spawns and bonus items.

Each Power Hour has had its own theme so far, which is the best guide to what the next one will boost:

• 22 August, Golden Hours: Gold Sprite variants were hacked in, everyone dropped with an extra Portable Extractor and a 1-Up Token, and Midas’ Masterpiece spawned more often.
• 5 September: Cheat Master Sprites appeared more often, including the ones added that week, and players dropped in with a Golden Apple, two Jellyfish and three Peppers.
• 19 September, KINGDOM HEARTS: everyone started with the Kingdom Key and a Sea Salt Ice Cream, and Hacker Sprite variants showed up more often.

Are Sprites Allowed in Ranked?

No. Sprites joined Ranked Battle Royale at launch with their powers disabled, and Epic then vaulted them from Ranked on 28 August. Your Season 3 Sprites are in the Sprite Garden mode instead of Battle Royale.

Best Fortnite Sprites for Everyday Matches

Overshield is the simplest pick for survival, and X-Ray is the strongest for information. For movement, Pond’s Super Jump and Jackrabbit’s double jump beat most options, while Tails lets you hover out of trouble.
